Todd Rogers Bio

Todd Rogers has an interesting educational background, having earned his degree at UC Santa Barbara in a rather unusual subject — religious studies — along with a minor in coaching in 1996.

Rogers set a school record for career digs with 783 (since surpassed) and placed second in career assists with 4,831. He earned a degree in religious studies with a minor in coaching.

When he was a student at San Marcos High School, he had already played soccer and volleyball, but it was the latter that he decided to make his career.

Todd Rogers has an impressive 24 World Tour FIVB gold medals to his name and has had no less than 42 podium finishes from 1997 to 2016.

Olympic Experience

Todd Rodgers missed out on playing Olympic sand volleyball for the US Olympic team in 2004 when he and his partner, Sean Scott, narrowly missed out on qualifying, finishing as the 3rd ranked American team and the 4th highest-ranked team in the world.

In 2012, he was on the beach volleyball USA team at the London Olympics alongside his partner Dalhausser. Still, unfortunately, they ended up being eliminated in the 16th round to tie in 9th place.

Dalhausser enjoyed a break-out year in 2006, winning eight AVP tournaments with Todd Rogers along with an FIVB Grand Slam event in Austria. He was named the Most Improved Player by both the AVP and FIVB, and in a testament to his all-around game, was selected as the AVP’s Best Offensive Player (for the second straight season) as well as the FIVB’s Best Blocker.

Had played only four events with players other than Nick Lucena before the 2006 season. They were the lowest seeded team (16th) to defeat the top-ranked team of 2004, Karch Kiraly and Mike Lambert, when they beat them in Hermosa Beach. Played in five qualifiers in 2003, but their seventh-place finish to start the 2004 season enabled them to make the main draw ever since.

Todd Rogers is arguably a professional volleyball USA hero. He has had many highlights in his career, including being a 2-time UCSB All-American and setting a record for his school for his total career digs. He also won 43 events on the Official AVP Volleyball Tour between 2006 and 2010.
